William Beckett Plastics is presented with Queen's award
As the Queen's representative, the Lord-Lieutenant of South Yorkshire, David Moody, visited the firm's premises on the Tinsley Industrial Park, Shepcote Lane, to present the firm with a Queen's Award for Enterprise for its outstanding business success.
William Beckett Plastics won its Queen's Award in International Trade and is the only company in Sheffield to receive the award in this category this year. The company designs and manufactures specialised plastic packaging for cutting tools, exporting its boxes to over 40 countries world-wide and which now represents 80% of group sales.
At the presentation ceremony, the company was presented with a crystal bowl engraved with the Queen's Award Emblem as a symbol of its success as well as a grant of appointment.
Managing Director, William Beckett, said he was delighted the presentation could be held at their factory premises, as all the company's employees, both past and present, could share in the celebration. It was also a wonderful opportunity to share it with representatives from all the organisations who have supported the company in its global adventure into international trade.
The presentation was the culmination of a remarkable year in the company's ongoing success story. Earlier this year, the company received the award for Best Overseas Investment at the Yorkshire Forward and UKTI Global Awards ceremony in recognition of its successful penetration of the US market.
However, ‘to receive the Queen's Award in International Trade is the ultimate accolade for any business' - said William Beckett.
